CEOM wins VicHealth Award

CEOM has been presented with the VicHealth ‘Systems for Health’ award at the VicHealth Awards at the Melbourne Town Hall on 16 December. The award is in recognition of the commitment of CEOM to the Schools as Core Social Centres (SACSC) initiative which commenced in 2002 as a partnership between CEOM and VicHealth.

The SACSC initiative focuses on building school and community partnerships to promote wellbeing and social connection. Using a ‘systems approach’, the initiative has engaged all levels of the school community throughout the program’s development and roll out, enabling the on-going involvement of schools, staff, parents, students and community agencies. To date the initiative has involved over 7000 students from over 5000 families within clusters of schools across the Archdiocese.
