"Learning Better Together" - Study Tour
This Study Tour has been developed for CEOM school leaders involved in the Schools as Core Social Centres (SACSC) initiative, in partnership with the DEECD and the Australian Catholic University and in conjunction with the Centre for RelationaLearning, Santa Fe, New Mexico. This tour is a new innovation that has evolved through your commitment to the School as Core Social Centres initiative and will be trialed in September year.
The Study Tour will be to Santa Fe, New Mexico and comprise:
- a three-day workshop will explore the changing relationships between schools, youth-serving organisations and the community focusing on community development, learning and leadership; and
- a five day tour will be conducted as a cultural immersion experience and will explore innovative local projects and initiatives that serve youth and learning in community.
The purpose of the Study Tour is to:
- provide the opportunity for teachers, school leaders, teacher educators and community representatives involved in SACSC clusters to explore school - community relationships and develop their skills and knowledge in this area.
- promote learning in school community participation and partnerships for school leaders, teacher educators and school support personnel.
If you or members of your school leadership team are interested in obtaining further information about the Study Tour please contact Lesley Hyde or John Stafford at CEOM on 9267 0228.
