Primary Teaching
The Master of Teaching (Primary) will qualify you to teach across all primary years as a generalist teacher, with specialist knowledge in literacy and numeracy education. It is a two-year, full-time program.

Entry requirements:
- an undergraduate degree from an approved institution
- all applicants must also meet English language requirements
Course Structure and Delivery
The first three semesters (150 points, 18 months) focus on your development as an imaginative and creative primary teacher, who can teach across the curriculum.
In the final semester (50 points, 6 months), you will undertake specialised study in literacy and numeracy teaching, focusing on personalised learning and intervention. You will also study an elective subject and complete a part-time internship in a school.
Career Outcomes
The Master of Teaching (Primary) will qualify you for provisional registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). You may also choose to pursue a career in a related field, such as:
- policy formation
- education research
- assessment and evaluation
- youth health and wellbeing.
