Message from our Dean and General Manager
The new Education Precinct is an exciting opportunity for MGSE. It will help build our profile as Australia's leading school of education as well as enable us to deliver more effectively on our three core pillars of activity, all of which are guided by their impact on and relevance to Australian society:
- delivery of a research-led, world class pre-service teacher preparation qualification at postgraduate level (the Master of Teaching);
- collaborative, inter-disciplinary, theme-led research and research training programs; and,
- demand-driven, research-led postgraduate professional training.
Our co-location to the Education Precinct will benefit staff and students in a range of ways, both immediately and into the future. Immediate benefits include:
- increased opportunities to form formal and informal partnerships among colleagues;
- the opportunity to work in fit-for-purpose spaces for teaching and research as well as comfortable, user-friendly office spaces;
- the opportunity to build the MGSE’s profile as the leading school of education in Australia; and,
- the ability to streamline provision of administrative services for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
This is a large, ambitious and progressive project, and is not without its challenges. By working together we will be able to make the transition smooth and successful. There are a number of staff already making valuable contributions to the success of the project, and there will be further opportunities to provide input thoughout the year.
